The BRCA isn't a car club. It's an organisation that promotes and governs much of the racing in the UK.

http://www.brca.org/Clubs/club%20frame%20page.htm

As you can see, Ellesmere Port Off Roaders are affiliated, and as such you would only be able to participate in a few days worth of racing before being made to join the BRCA anyway.

Insurance is extremely important, whether racing or not. For £14 a year, you'd be stupid not to apply.

It does not matter whether you join Ellsmere Port or not this is only a club and even though affilated through the BRCA you will still need BRCA insurance after attending 4 meetings the BRCA will cover you on insurance purposes up to 4 meetings after this it is law that you apply for BRCA insurance if not this means that you are not legal to race at any BRCA affilated meetings as you have no insurance cover

Here is a link for you may be well worth taking a look at;

http://www.brca.org/

It looks like some people don't understand insurance at all. If you hit someone with your car/truck/buggy, or even run into their dog, pushchair, child, or a parked car, then they can turn straight round and claim damages off you. They don't need you to admit that you caused the damage or injury, they can claim for whatever they like.

Solicitors cost about £150 a letter (their solicitors will claim that off you and sue you for it if you don't pay) and you can reckon on half a dozen letters before an insured claim is settled and probably at least 12 if you are uninsured. Plus they can add claimants costs for loss of earnings, repairs to whatever you damaged, personal injury claims, court costs etc etc etc. Anyone who thinks that they are the lucky type is a sandwich short of a picnic. You might run into your best friend...but he/she can still sue you!

Claiming that 'you didn't mean to do it' is irrelevant, the fact that someones dog ran into the path of your car is irrelevant, losing the signal or a jammed throttle is irrelevant. You are responsible for the damage/injury and that is what insurance is for.

£12 is the cost of a bottle of fuel??

Hope that this helps someone to see sense.

I think that they wouldd onoly really work on private land, i dont think it would work if you were to go to the woods and put one of them up as its public property, that would mean i could rag my autograss car round thee park, run someone over then say your here at your own risk, good idea though

Not as easy as this i am afraid to say as if you race or holding any event or shoe the drivers and club must be affiliated to the BRCA as no insurance is valid

The reason for this as you all aware that nitros can be very dangerous especially if they have a run away

It was only last year where a rallyx went out of control and hit a 18 month old child that was sitting in the buggy at the time

This is just one event that has come to light over the last 12 months there has been alot more r/c accidents this is why it is important that whatever meeting i run and hold the drivers book in and they have to show there valid BRCA licence if they have no licence they do not race simple as this;

It is not worth taking the risk as it will cost you alot more than £15 per year if you ever injured anybody and not insured you could be paying alot more than this in solicter letters fees and court costs

The lady concerened is in every legal right to billing you for the bill for the vets unfortunally;

As it was a wood where this happened it is classed as a public place and to run any form of rc;s you should have brca insurance as when things goes **** up like this the BRCA insurance covers you for not only being in attenedance at sanctioned events it also giver you personnal libilaty insurance when out in public places;

THIS IS WHY I STATE INSURANCE IS TOP PRIORITY AND VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!

You are very lucky that she has not persued this matter any further or taken up with the police it is against the law to run these rc;s anywhere unless you have got insurance as if something does happen you have not get a leg to stand on
